Game of Thrones Renewed for a Second Season

Game of Thrones Renewed for a Second Season

Article by Tianya

It’s not easy being a bad guy, especially an abusive, incestuous, entitled young king who’s been booted from his own realm. Harry Lloyd, who plays Viserys Targaryen, has coped with this by tapping into the ancient power of … Rationalization. “In the book, Viserys is only ever seen from his sister’s point of view,” Lloyd says. “So he does seem like this sort of totalitarian brat – because obviously his sister brings out the worst in him. When someone does something on the page, like, ‘Wow, that is so f**king intense.’ You either step back and write him off as a nutcase, or you think he must have a really good reason to do that. So I got stuck into the reasoning and thought, ‘Actually, she’s not this sweet, lovable character who’s finding her own womanhood through this tribe. She’s a spoiled brat who just doesn’t get it. And if her father could see her now, he’d be ashamed …’ So then you just write your own story where you’re the good guy.”??Game of Thrones Renewed for a Second Season??Good news for ‘Thrones’ fans old and new this morning: The series has already been picked up for a second season on HBO. Premiere night on Sunday pulled in 4.2 million viewers, and critics have been widely praising the show – so it looks like the GOT cast and crew can look forward to another adventure in Northern Ireland in their near future.Sibling relationships have obviously been a sore spot all season on ‘Game of Thrones,’ but Sunday’s episode really turned up the heat. Besides the bro-basting Viserys received (a crowning moment that actor Harry Lloyd has a few things to say about), our Cro-Magnon king Robert got an earful from his hairless little brother, Arya had a good laugh at Sansa’s marital hopes, and Tyrion admitted to some adolescent seasoning of Cersei’s turtle stew…??The dwarf’s Eyrie adventure took a definite turn for the better thanks to Bronn the killing machine and everybody’s favorite jailer. But his escape marks another strike against poor Catelyn, who – even standing next to her crazy sister – seems to be suffering from a bit of an image problem. I’d suggest that life might look up for her next week, but what are the chances of that happening for anyone in Westeros? At least you won’t have to wait to see, though – the new episode, ‘You Win or You Die’ is playing in advance on HBOGO.??• Did Viserys really deserve to go out like that? Anyone have sympathy for the dragon???• Should Catelyn be blamed for the Starks’ dire straits, or is she just doing the best she can in an impossible situation???• There have been enough Tyrion moments in the season so far to start picking favorites – what are your nominees???A NOTE ON SPOILERS: In the comments, please avoid mentioning or alluding to any events from the ‘A Song of Ice and Fire’ books that haven’t occurred on the television series. All the fans experiencing this story for the first time will appreciate it!
