Best Drama category, the cast and crew couldn’t have been more ecstatic to see Peter Dinklage win the Best Supporting Actor Emmy for his memorable portrayal of Tyrion Lannister. “I’m going back

to work and I’m giving (the Emmy) to Lena Headey because she deserves it more than I do,” Dinklage joked as Headey laughed along, “I’m bringing it to set and demanding respect from the rest of the cast and crew. Things are going to change!”The problem is that these properties are hard to translate. The pilot for the Walking Dead was amazing, but the rest of the season fizzled spectacularly. Many fans of George R.R. Martin’s books were afraid the same was going to happen to the Game of Thrones series, and the books seemed unfilmable. In a surprise twist, the first season of the show hasn’t been just good for a fantasy series, it’s been an amazing piece of storytelling, full stop. We’re going to talk about why it has succeeded, and why you need to be watching.Jason Momoa, who played the barbaric Khal Drogo in the first season said he “grabbed and squeezed” Dinklage after the actor’s win. “If there was one character I would have wanted to play more than mine, it would be his,” said Momoa. As to whether or not Momoa’s character would return for the second season, the actor put on a huge smile and said “You’ll never see me again”, hinting that he may indeed be returning in some capacity. The worker said that production had been called off for the day, but everyone was moved to the catering tent to eat. Then it collapsed.Melinda Snodgrass, one of the co-creators and co-writers, has been tapped to pen the screenplay

for the project, which marks Syfy Films’ first acquisition. Martin and Snodgrass will executive produce.I have not read the books, and it would be great if those that have read the entirety of the series stick to discussing the show, without posting spoilers from the later books. Also, I am assuming you have seen all ten episodes, so there will be heavy spoilers from this season, and I won’t be re-introducing every character that’s being discussed. The richness of Game of Thrones came through each week – a testament to the writers, actors and direction. The creativity never flagged, there were no obvious short-cuts and a world was created that was immediately understandable, so that the notion of White Walkers and dragons as fantasy elements were, like much of the similar elements in Lord Of the Rings, a bonus to the already sophisticated and complex main story.Sean Bean as Ned Stark was shown heavily in the show’s marketing, and viewers who hadn’t read the books fell into the trap of believing he was the show’s protagonist. He was noble, powerful, and in a world filled with people whose motivations were twisted and obscure he seemed to be a genuinely good person. In fact, this was his fatal flaw: the idea that as long as he did the right thing with the right motivations, everything would be okay. By the time he was standing in front of the people, confessing treason, it was too late for him, and his beheading was shocking.Game of Thrones stars Sean Bean, Mark Addy, Nikolaj Coster-Waldau, Michelle Fairley, Lena Headey,
